Recipe for Bliss Denison's Crawfish Pie

Bliss Denison's Crawfish Pie is from Wedded Bliss - H S #758 by Kathleen Y'barbo

Crawfish Pie

  1. 2 pounds peeled crawfish tails
  2. 1 stick margarine
  3. 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  4. 1 can evaporated milk
  5. 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with equal amount of water)
  6. 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  7. 0.5 teaspoon white pepper (optional)
  8. 1 cup chopped onion
  9. 1 cup chopped celery
  10. 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  11. 1 uncooked pie crust (top and bottom)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute onions and celery in margarine until done. Add soup, milk, and spices. Stir in cornstarch and cook until slightly thickened (about 10 minutes). Mix in crawfish and pour into unbaked pie crust then add pie crust top, being sure to crimp edges together. Bake until crust is browned, approximately 45-50 minutes. Serves 8.
