GAIL GAYMER MARTIN was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. She resides there today with her husband, Bob. Her two adult stepchildren are grown and now live on their own. Gail is a retired high school teacher of English and speech, and later became a guidance counselor. Presently, she is on the adjunct teaching staff in the English curriculum at Davenport University. Though she has written most of her life, Gail began to write professionally in 1995. Besides her novels with Heartsong and Steeple Hill, she is the author of fourteen worship resource books and hundreds of articles and short stories in many Christian publications, including work in four devotional gift books. She is also a contributing editor of The Christian Communicator with a monthly column on inspirational romance writing.
