Loree Lough

At last count, best-selling author LOREE LOUGH had 53 books (fiction and non-fiction for kids and adults; 1 novel optioned for a TV movie; 2 slated for 2006 and 2 contracted for 2007 release), 51 short stories, and more than 2,200 articles in print. Her stories have earned dozens of industry and "Readers' Choice" awards, and publishers have (jokingly, she hopes) threatened to charge for the costs of forwarding large volumes of fan mail. Since 1990, Loree has been busy developing and teaching writing-related courses (including Writer's Digest WOW sessions), seminars, and workshops, each geared to educate and inform, inspire and enthuse her students... hundreds of whom are now, themselves, published authors. A frequent guest speaker for writers' organizations, book clubs, private corporations, college and high school writing programs, and more, Loree has encouraged thousands with her comedic approach to 'learned-the-hard-way' lessons about the craft and the publishing industry. She lives in Maryland with her husband of (mumble-mumble) years, where she's determined to stay until she succeeds in prying the secret Old Bay Seasoning recipe from McCormick employees.
